Analysis of colour palettes and fonts

I like the simplistic colour pallet of this magazine. The red, black and white all contrast each other. Although, the red text stands out the most as it matches the colour of the title of the magazine, the black writing also contrasts nicely with the white, making it stand out as well. The stylist of Madonna has thought about what colours to have her dressed in, but I think that they could have had her in a black dress as they have the red lips and the red nails but the blue dress does not match in with the rest of the colour scheme.
The font used in this magazine colour is very basic, all of the main titles of the magazine are in capitals, the writing that needs to stand out is in bold and is bigger. This is used to show who is in the magazine. The writing is very blocky and plain, which suits the style of the magazine. This particular magazine has opted to use exclamation points within their text

I like how this magazine cover has a different colour background, it will make it stand out when being sold amungst other magazines. The colour scheme of white, black, purple and bright pink is interesting as you would normally not get this amount of dark colours on a magazine cover. The pink has been carefully matched between the colour of Alicia's top and the colour of her name to make sure that they are exactly the same. This works as it makes the "ALICIA KEYS" writing stand out as much as possible. The white, black and purple writing around the outside helps split the different titles on the magazine as they are written in different colours.
The font that is used on this magazine cover is very basic, the titles are in capitals and the writing underneath is not. In the title "THE LONG TALE" the font is different sizes, this is quite effective as it draws attention to the "THE" writing.

I like how Rihanna is black and white in this cover. It is a change from the normal magazine, where the background and writing is black and white and the main image is in colour. I think that this is really effective because although the background and writing is in colour, the image is still captive within the cover. It grabs the readers attention as her features contrast the blue background. I think that having the "Whats love got to do with it?" the same colour as the background but on the top of Rihanna is very effective as it makes a change from the black and white writing.
I like the colour title, although they merge together, the different letters in VIBE almost look like different fonts. The V looks like it is in italic, whereas none of the other letters do. I also think that having the B in capitals and the e in lower case letters is effective as without looking at it properly, I did not realise. I think this is a great way to make the title of the magazine unique as it can also be used as a logo.
The use of the & sign between Rihanna and Chris is in a different font to the rest of that title, I like this as it gives it an edge and makes it stand out on the page. the Rihanna and Chris font is very square and plain whereas the & sign is quite twirly, almost like caligraphy, this contrasts really well.
